Our practice is unique as it is a family run operation. My sister, Jennifer, manages the office aspects of the
business by answering the phones, scheduling appointments, etc. My mother, Jackie, rides along to housecalls and assists
me as needed. My husband, Aaron, helps out at vaccine clinics and is often the voice of sanity at the end of a hectic
day. There's a chance from time to time you might even meet my daughters, Ava, age four, and Eden, age two.
I'd bet money that my four year old will be able to diagnose ear mites by age five!
Jenn has years of experience
in customer service and office administration. She enjoys the "never a dull moment" atmosphere of working
at WVAC. Every day is an adventure for her and she is truly a multi-tasking goddess. From answering the phones
to expressing anal glands, Jenn can handle anything!
Jackie worked 39 years for the State of Indiana. She
worked with devlopmentally disabled individuals as a certifed nurse's assistant and a training officer. She has
also extensively studied behavior modification. Though Mom's background is in human services, many medical skills
and calming techniques are easily adapted for her role as a veterinary assistant. I have been amazed at how proficiently
se can restrain unruly animals. After reading Ceasar Milan's book, she now thinks she is the "Dog Whisperer."
Mom loves helping my clients and meeting their owners.
We make animal care just plain fun! Our staff is very
personable and friendly. People feel comfortable welcoming us into their homes because we are so down to earth. A
person must have a sense of humor if they work with animals or work with animal people. We are always laughing and joking
around. We definitely don't take ourselves too seriously. We've established the "Quote of the Day."
For example "Save that poop that just feel in your pocket Mom...we need a stool sample anyway!"
